GSaritaC in a Land Far Away

So, many of you probably already know that GSaritaC traveled halfway around the world to the beautiful and mysterious country of Burma about a week ago. She will be gone for about another week, returning the first weekend in September. She went to work with and observe women in the villages there, learning about local cottage industry and artisanship firsthand. Looking forward to hearing all about the art of G&C, Burmastyle! I miss you, my friend!

Sunday

Dear G$C...

To take lipstick stains from white linen, try either, alcohol or gasoline.

If you wish to impart an original flavour, to mayonnaise add a little horseradish, of course.

Turnip tops, mustard and beet greens, as well as young new dandelions, may be mixed with salads.

When the back of a man's collar gets that greasy, soiled look, dissolve a little salt in alcohol and rub the collar with this solution on a clean cloth. It will remove that discoloration entirely. Really.

Monday

Sunday

Dear G$C...

Wash basins often become clogged. If there is no plunger in the house, cut an old tennis ball into halves. Place one half over the drain, and use in the same manner as an ordinary plunger, pressing firmly with fingers several times.

Burned hands can be soothed by holding in flour.

To make fine glassware sparkle, dip the clean, dry pieces in alcohol, and let dry upright, for gleaming perfection, glittering beauty.
